Concert-level expertise
for every piano
CONCERT EXPERIENCE. PERSONAL SERVICE.
Turano Pianos provides professional piano tuning, regulation, voicing, repair, and maintenance throughout Indianapolis and Central Indiana.
Brian Turano brings decades of concert-level training and experience to every instrument he services. He currently serves as Head of Piano Technology at the Aspen Music Festival and School and has worked as a concert piano technician at Steinway Hall Dallas/Fort Worth, Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music, Purdue University, and Ball State University. His concert work also includes tuning for the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition.
A graduate of North Bennet Street School with additional training at the Steinway & Sons factory in New York, Brian brings the same careful listening, precision, and attention to detail to pianos in homes and teaching studios that he brings to instruments in professional performance settings.
Piano Tuning
Regular tuning keeps your piano sounding clear, balanced, and at the proper pitch. Brian provides precise, stable tunings for grand and upright pianos throughout the Indianapolis area, bringing the same level of care to pianos in homes and teaching studios that he brings to concert instruments.
Piano Regulation
Regulation adjusts the piano’s action—the mechanism between the keys and hammers—to improve responsiveness, repetition, and control. Brian evaluates the action as a whole, correcting wear and unevenness to help your piano feel more consistent and responsive to play.
Piano Voicing
Voicing shapes the tone of your piano, improving its balance, color, and evenness across the keyboard. Brian carefully evaluates the hammers, action, and tuning to refine the instrument’s sound while preserving its individual character.
Piano Repair
From sticking keys and broken action parts to worn components and other mechanical problems, Brian diagnoses the cause and provides careful, lasting repairs. Each repair is approached with attention to the instrument’s performance, reliability, and long-term condition.
